ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood was founded in 2008 by Essence magazine as an annual luncheon honoring Black women in film, television, and entertainment. Held each year in Los Angeles during awards season, the event recognizes actresses, directors, producers, and executives for their contributions to the industry and cultural impact. Past honorees have included Viola Davis, Lupita Nyong'o, Ava DuVernay, Taraji P. Henson, Issa Rae, Regina King, Angela Bassett, and Zendaya. The luncheon draws studio executives, talent agents, entertainment journalists, and Hollywood power players, making it one of the most influential Black women's gatherings in the entertainment industry.
Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit

The Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit was launched in 2005 as the premier leadership development conference for Black women executives in corporate America. Held each spring at a luxury resort destination, the four-day summit brings together senior leaders, c-suite executives, board members, and rising professionals from Fortune 500 companies for programming focused on executive leadership, board service, financial empowerment, and personal development. The summit features keynote addresses from major executives, intimate breakout sessions, formal awards programming, and wellness activations. WPS is widely regarded as the most influential gathering of Black women in corporate leadership in the United States.
National Society of Black Engineers Convention

The National Society of Black Engineers was founded in 1975 at Purdue University by a group of undergraduate students and has grown into one of the largest student-governed organizations in the country, with chapters at more than 700 campuses. The Annual Convention brings together over 15,000 engineers, technical professionals, and recruiters for five days of professional development, technical workshops, career fairs, and networking. Major employers including Google, Microsoft, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Goldman Sachs, and ExxonMobil send senior recruiters to identify and hire Black technical talent. NSBE's convention is one of the most critical recruiting pipelines for Black engineering talent in the United States.
Houston Rodeo Black Heritage Weekend

Black Heritage Weekend is an annual celebration held within the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest rodeo in the world. The weekend recognizes the Black cowboy tradition and the historical contributions of Black ranchers, ropers, riders, and equestrians to American rodeo culture. Programming includes performances by Black artists, a parade, cultural exhibits, a gospel concert at NRG Stadium, and showcase events featuring Black competitors. The weekend draws hundreds of thousands of attendees and has become an important platform for raising awareness about the Black cowboy heritage that originated in Texas and across the American West.
